Fund Raising Projects at SWESRS
OVENS, OVENS, OVENS!
Back in 2009 members dug deep to help fund the replacement cost of the boilers in the Prayer Hall, SWESRS needs your help again.
SWESRS has been updating its electricity and gas safety certificates, to comply with current legislation. Due to changes in regulations and a general tightening of the rules, the gas supply to the oven in the main shul kitchen has had to be turned off. The oven, which is the best part of 20 years old, is leaking fumes and due to an inadequate airflow, has been judged to be unsafe.
SWESRS’ Council are arranging for a quote for an extractor canopy with associated flue, but the cost could be prohibitive, in which case a new electric oven will need to be purchased.
I’m therefore asking every member if they could donate £5 to this worthy cause. If each member were to donate just £5, sufficient funds would be raised for either an extractor canopy, or a new oven.
With our Communal Seder and booked life cycle events scheduled for next month, Council needs to act quickly to resolve this situation. I hope members will respond generously to this appeal, so that our Communal Seder, Kol HaMishpachot Services and booked simcha events can take place and continue to feed SWESRS members quality meals, in traditional SWESRS fashion.
