Polina Shepherd, born in Siberia, is now an internationally renowned singer bringing the songs of the Steppes and the Shtetl up to date with passion and haunting soul. Her singing cuts a sound deeply rooted in east European Jewish and Russian folk. She is also well-known as an educator and conductor, leading choral workshops both in the UK and abroad. It is a great privilege to welcome Polina to SWESRS! Polina will be both talking about and performing the rich heritage of Yiddish music in all its variety. Refreshments will be available after the concert
