What Is Happening on the Ground- Supporting Ukrainian Refugees SWESRS’s meeting with our new partner at the Slovak Jewish Federation, Rabbi Misha Kapustin

Thursday March 24 @ 7:00 pm

As the war in Ukraine rages on, refugees are fleeing into neighbouring countries.  Jewish refugees have been turning to the local Jewish communities for help, and those communities feel stretched in energy and resources.

Rabbi Misha Kapustin, a Leo Baeck College ordained rabbi is currently serving as the rabbi to the Federation of Jewish Communities in the Slovak Republic. Rabbi Misha is coordinating the community's response, which includes both short-term and long term hosting for many women and children who have fled Ukraine.

We will hear the situation on the ground in Bratislava, and how we can help our Progressive Jewish communities on the front line of the Refugee Crisis welcome and support new families.

There will be an ask for donations at this meeting, which can be made to the synagogue office, and will be transferred via the Slovak Jewish Federation to the family we are sponsoring.

This will be held via Zoom and you can join us by clicking here.

Meeting ID: 817 0627 8890

Please share the link with any that are interested.

This synagogue partnership is an initiative of the European Union for Progressive Judaism’s Rabbinic Assembly (ERA).
