As part of the WUPJ (World Union of Progressive Judaism) global Conference, we are delighted to be welcoming to SWESRS Rabbi Jeffrey Gale of Flushing Free Synagogue, New York. Rabbi Gale was ordained at Leo Baeck College, London and served Southend and District Reform Synagogue and The Settlement Synagogue before continuing his rabbinic career back in the States.

Rabbi Gale will join us for our Shabbat morning service and speak in the sermon slot  - "Rendezvous with Yesterday". A retrospect of some of Rabbi Gale’s experiences at the Settlement Synagogue and SWERS.

Saturday Torah Lunch: "A Review of the Ballad of East and West:  The Settlement Synagogue and SWERS Factor

Following the service please join us for a Torah Lunch to hear Rabbi Gale speak about his book - A Review of the Ballad of East and West:  The Settlement Synagogue and SWERS Factor - which is largely based on his experience of the Settlement Synagogue and his visits with refuseniks in the former Soviet Union.

Student Rabbi Tali will be speaking to Rabbi Gale’s community in Flushing NY at their Friday night service on Friday, 30th April. If you are a night owl and would like to support Tali, as well as meet members of the Flushing community - login details will be available on next weeks email.

Rabbi Lisa will be teaching a Torah lunch to Rabbi Gale’s community on Shabbat afternoon, 1st May. If you would like to join in at 3 30pm UK time, again login details will be available next week.
