Yom Hazikaron Commemoration and Yom Ha’Atzmaut Celebrations

Tuesday 28 April 7pm-9pm - Reform Judaism and its Communities, together with the Assembly of Rabbis and Cantors, will join together online to mark the Havdallah- Transition – between Yom Hazikaron, a day we remember the fallen soldiers and terror victims to celebrating Yom Ha’Atzmaut- Israel’s 72nd Independence Day.

This painful transition reminds us the sacrifice so many people made to establish the state of Israel and keep it safe and from this memory we move to celebrating the establishment of the state.

Programme for the evening:

Yom HaZikaron and Yom HaAtzmaut Tekes – 7-8pm: This ceremony of Havdallah between these days will be led by Rabbis, Cantors and lay leaders from many communities. There are two ways to join us:  Via zoom: or using Meeting ID: 97648883853 and use password: ‘remember’

Celebrating together 8-9pm

Option 1: Shira Yisraelit- Israeli online song session with great musicians from our communities. To join click and use password ‘sing’.

Option 2: A Rabbi, A Theologian and an Editor walked into a bar to banter and ponder Israel hosted by Rabbi Laura Janner-Klausner together with Rabbi Dr Michael Marmur and Charlotte Halle. (remain in the tekes, this will follow on)
