Around 180 people attended the Community Meeting last Sunday. How we managed to fit them in we still can’t work out.
The noise levels during the discussions were tremendous.
We’ve got some very useful suggestions which are being analysed, and around 70 willing volunteers to help us out in one way or another. Over the next few weeks, we will get each group of volunteers together to discuss how you can help us.
But the main purpose of the morning, for many attending, was where SWESRS should be located. The big news is that SWESRS members opted to stay at the current site. The number of first preferences is shown below.
REMAIN AT OAKS LANE WITH SITE DIVIDED - 121
MOVE FROM OAKS LANE AND REMAIN INDEPENDENT - (ONLY WHEN SOMEWHERE BECOMES AVAILABLE) - 4
MOVE FROM OAKS LANE AND SHARE A SITE WITH ANOTHER COMMUNAL ORGANIZATION (WITH A VIEW TO BUYING SOMEWHERE LATER) - 31
The synagogue Council will now act on this overwhelming preference, to put measures in place that will secure our future at Oaks Lane.
There is another meeting planned for May. If we need another one sooner, we will let you know. Meanwhile, we will continue to keep you informe.
